Parking in Budva: where to park and how to pay

The parking zone on Popa Jola Zeca by the bus station differs from the one on Babilonija by the school. Before you leave the car, read the sign on your side of the street. It gives the zone, charging hours and SMS number. Car parks with barriers have their own tariffs.

On-street parking rates

Under Budva’s published 2026 tariffs, winter rates apply from 1 October to 30 April and summer rates from 1 May to 30 September. In the purple zone on Mediteranska, between Lovćenska Street and the Jat car park, one hour paid by SMS to 14651 costs €1.50 in winter and €2 in summer. In the red zone (SMS14652), the hourly rate is €1 in winter and €1.50 in summer. This zone includes stretches of Mediteranska, 13. jula and Popa Jola Zeca. The zone can change along the same street.

In the yellow zone (SMS14653), an hour costs €0.80 in winter and €1 in summer. Look for this zone on Babilonija and Dositejeva and near the health centre. A 24-hour ticket for the yellow zone has its own SMS number, 14654. It costs €5 in winter and €10 in summer. Check the number on the sign before paying.

Paying by phone

With a local SIM, text your registration number to the SMS number for the zone. If you are driving a hire car, copy the letters from the plate. Keep the confirmation message and check when the ticket expires. If no confirmation arrives, check the zone number and use another available payment method.

With a foreign SIM, open the official Parking Servis Budva app before parking. It accepts card payments. Enter the registration number and choose the zone shown on the sign. You can also use eKiosk or a ticket outlet. The operator’s office is on the third floor of TQ Plaza on Mediteranska. Enquiries: +382 33 402 492. +382 33 402 492.

A notice under the wiper: when the €33.33 rate applies

If the car is still parked and you find a Parking Servis notice marked dnevna karta-nalog, check the registration number and date of issue. The operator issues this daily ticket when an inspector finds that street parking has not been paid for. The full charge is €50. If you pay within eight days of the date of issue, the amount is €33.33. Follow the payment instructions on the notice and keep your receipt.

If you had already paid, compare the registration number, zone and time on your confirmation with the details on the notice. Have both documents to hand when you contact Parking Servis.

If your car has been towed in Budva

Call Parking Servis Budva, +382 33 402 492and give the registration number. Budva municipal police can be reached on +382 68 861 303. Ask for the pin for the entrance: Možete li mi poslati lokaciju ulaza na parking?

Finding the vehicle pound behind Tehnomax

Look for the Tehnomax shop on Žrtava fašizma bb. On 1 April 2026 RTV Budva reported that the vehicles had been moved to a site on the street behind the shop. Show the Tehnomax building on the map. The pin marks the shop. The gate coordinates are still unconfirmed. An older description on the operator’s site still refers to the Red Cross.

When to go and what to bring

Article 9 of Budva’s municipal decision No. 24/2013 provides for release of a vehicle to its owner or user around the clock. We could not verify the night-duty arrangements at the new site. If you are going at night, call first to find out who can open the gate.

Bring proof that you have paid the towing charge. The decision expressly requires you to show it to staff. Article 9 does not list individual identity or vehicle-use documents. Ask whether a passport and vehicle registration certificate (saobraćajna dozvola) are sufficient. For a hire car, ask whether to bring the rental agreement and whether the owner must be involved.

How the towing charge is calculated

Under Article 3 of Montenegro’s government regulation No. 7/2013, loading and unloading together cost €30, transport to the pound costs another €30, and storage costs €5 for the first 24 hours and €5 for each subsequent 24 hours. If the car is loaded, taken to the pound and collected within the first 24 hours, those amounts add up to 65 €. The municipal police issue any parking fine separately. Give your registration number to confirm the exact amount due.

Budva Explorer: checking for available spaces

In Budva Explorer, open the town map and select the car park you want. The developer says the figures come from Parking Servis Budva. Each count covers the whole car park and may change before you arrive.

To check without installing the app, open the Parking Servis Budva availability board and look for Stanje na parkiralištima. Select TQ Plaza or Bracera, for example. The number beside the name shows the available spaces; select the car park to see its location. For on-street parking, pay by SMS or through the official Parking Servis Budva app.

For the Old Town: the post office car park or TQ Plaza garage

For a visit to the Old Town, look on the board for City , the car park by the main post office. Another central option is the garage at TQ Plaza. Compare the availability figures before leaving. Take a ticket at the entrance barrier and keep it until you leave. An SMS ticket for the next street does not cover parking here.

When reports say Budva has more than 3,100 parking spaces, they mean the network’s peak-season capacity. On 18 August 2026 Parking Servis Budva reported 2,100 spaces in 18 dedicated car parks across the riviera, plus about a thousand marked on-street spaces in the municipality. The figure does not tell you how many spaces are free by the sea today.

If you are heading towards Bečići, check Zavala on the board. Open the list of Parking Servis Budva car parks and garages, check for spaces before you set off and follow the entrance signs. For a stay of several hours, compare the tariff at the barrier with the street rate. If you are meeting a passenger, check the bus station address.
