Budva bus station: address, tickets, luggage and connections

BUDVA.LIFE · TRANSPORT

If your ticket says Autobuska stanica Budva, go to Mercur in Rozino, at Popa Jola Zeca 9. If the local timetable says Budva (Centar), go to Mediteranska Street. Both have departures for Petrovac, so check the boarding point as well as the destination.

Where is Budva bus station?

The intercity station is in Rozino on Popa Jola Zeca. Mercur’s own website lists number 9. Directories also use Rozino bb, an address without a house number. On a map search for the name Autobuska stanica Budva and look for the Mercur complex.

The station is some distance from the Old Town walls. BusTicket4.me gives roughly 1.5 km. With a suitcase, allow time to reach the counter and platform, including crossings, traffic lights and the heat.

In a taxi, show the driver your ticket and the name of the station. Coming from Bečići or Rafailovići on a local bus, check where to get off and how far you still have to walk. A nearby stop can be outside the station grounds.

Mercur station and Mediteran Express: where to board

Intercity station

Popa Jola Zeca, Mercur complex. For intercity and international departures, check the station printed on your ticket.

Local buses along the riviera

For local buses along the coast, look for Budva (Centar) on Mediteranska Street. Mediteran Express serves Sveti Stefan and Petrovac to the east. The route to Jaz, Trsteno and Ploče runs west and has a separate seasonal timetable.

Several carriers may serve the same destination. “Petrovac” alone tells you little about where to board. Check the carrier, starting point and departure.

Buying a ticket and finding your bus

  1. Choose the travel date and arrival station. A city and its airport are separate destinations. Check where the bus actually arrives.
  2. Compare individual departures. Alongside the departure time check the carrier, journey length, changes and refund terms.
  3. Check what you need to show when boarding. If the seller requires a printout, prepare it in advance. Do not assume every operator accepts a PDF or QR code on your phone.
  4. Save an offline copy. Download the ticket and proof of payment. Check names, dates, direction and the number of passengers.
  5. At the station ask “Sa kojeg perona polazi ovaj autobus?” (Which platform does this bus leave from?) Find your departure by service details. The large sign on the bus may name a terminus beyond your stop.
  6. Check with the driver before boarding. Show your ticket, name your stop and ask where to put your bags.

We suggest arriving 30 minutes before departure. This is an editorial recommendation. Allow more time with children, large bags or an international ticket.

What the price includes

Check the fare, any station fee, luggage charge and cost of issuing or printing the ticket. Carriers have different extras. If your order already lists a fee, show the breakdown and ask what the extra payment covers.

Carry some cash. Paying for a ticket online by card does not guarantee card payment for every station service or on the bus.

Return tickets

Check whether a particular return service and seat are reserved. An open return may still require a reservation. Follow the seller’s instructions for your ticket.

Suitcases, hand luggage and storage

Ask the carrier how much a checked bag costs and whether weight or size limits apply. We have no confirmed universal rate. Keep your laptop, documents, money and medication with you.

Remember which compartment your suitcase goes into. Keep any luggage receipt until collection. At an intermediate stop remind the driver in advance that you need your bag.

BusTicket4.me lists luggage storage at the station. Confirm hours, capacity and charges before leaving your suitcase. In particular, check the last collection time against your departure.

Travelling with a child, pushchair, pet or bicycle

Contact the carrier before buying. Ask about a child seat and fare, a folded pushchair, a pet carrier and papers, or space for a bike. A photograph of an empty luggage compartment does not guarantee space on your service.

From Tivat Airport to Budva with luggage

Check the departure point on the ticket. If it says Autobuska stanica Tivat, board at the town bus station at Bonići I. After collecting your luggage at the airport, allow time for a separate journey to the station. Tivat bus station telephone: +382 32 663 366.

For a direct transfer give the flight number, accommodation address and number of bags. Confirm the meeting point at the terminal and the total fare to your door. The airport quotes 21 km by road to Budva. Give the village name if continuing to Pržno or Petrovac.

Podgorica Airport: where to change

When buying in Budva check the final stop. Podgorica AS means Podgorica’s central bus station. From there you need another service to Aerodrom Podgorica. The airport lists BTC Zeta, MS Tours and Zejdin among the operators. In the reverse direction buses board directly in front of the terminal. Ask “Do glavne autobuske stanice?” to find the central station for your connection to Budva.

For an early flight, work backwards from check-in and allow for both journeys. After a late arrival, first check the last city-to-Budva bus. If you cannot make the connection after baggage collection, ask in advance for a full transfer quote to your address. Map driving times exclude the wait between buses.

A day in Kotor or across the border to Dubrovnik

Kotor. Start at the intercity station in Rozino. Save the return departure before leaving and ask whether a printout is needed. From Kotor’s main station walk towards the Old Town and its southern Gurdić Gate. Return to the station and check the board for Budva. In summer allow for traffic on the approach to Kotor.

Dubrovnik. FlixBus lists the boarding point as Budva AS, Rozino. In Dubrovnik you arrive in Gruž, at Obala pape Ivana Pavla II 44. From there the Old Town is a separate journey. Allow for border checks in both directions and check your documents for entry to Croatia. FlixBus lists a €2 station fee in Budva. Ask whether the fee and baggage are covered by your ticket.

A summer alternative is the Budva–Dubrovnik sea connection. Check the sailing date and Adriatic Lines notices. In July 2026 the operator cancelled departures in strong southerly winds. For November look for tickets available for the actual travel date.

Kotor, Tivat, Podgorica and other destinations

Check intercity departures for your travel date. Under Departures, the station website has images whose file names are dated 30 May 2024. These images do not confirm November 2026 departures.

DestinationChecks before payment
Kotor and TivatCheck the arrival station, road conditions and time for your next connection.
PodgoricaCheck whether the bus arrives at the city station. Plan a separate airport connection unless the ticket explicitly lists the terminal.
Bar and SutomoreFor a train connection, check the walk from the bus stop to the railway station and allow for delays.
Belgrade and other international destinationsCheck the service on your date, the arrival station, the border crossing, travel documents and baggage conditions.
Dubrovnik or TiranaCheck season and days of operation, whether a change is needed, and border requirements for your nationality.

Use the table when planning; some routes may not run every day. AMSCG reports help with road conditions but do not track the position of your bus.

Airport journeys: check the actual stop before buying

“Budva – Tivat” may take you to the town rather than the airport terminal. The same applies to Podgorica. Before buying, confirm where you get off and how to cover the next stage. With a suitcase or a flight to catch, a reliable connection matters more than a small fare difference.

For a fixed arrival deadline allow extra time beyond the online estimate, including traffic and your airline’s check-in requirements.

Facilities at the station

Mercur lists a restaurant, café, takeaway food, green space and a small zoo on the premises. There are places to wait beyond the platforms; find your departure and confirm boarding before exploring.

The passenger directory also lists a toilet, ATM and taxi rank. Individual services may have different opening hours and charges from the ticket office.

Accessibility for passengers with reduced mobility

An accessibility survey by Udruženje paraplegičara Podgorica records a ramp, tactile markings and an adapted toilet. It also notes limitations in the design of the lowered ticket counters. These details describe the station infrastructure; individual services vary.

If you need assistance, call the station and the carrier. Check the route to the platform, bus type, boarding arrangements and wheelchair space. Step-free access to the building does not guarantee an accessible vehicle.
